11/4/2017 0 Comments choosing a boudoir photographerWe get asked so many different questions when it comes to boudoir photography. The most commonly asked question, after what is boudoir photography, is: what is the difference between a fantastic boudoir photographer and a good photographer in the industry? There are many great boudoir photographers in South Africa, so making the choice of who is your photographer, becomes very difficult. Below are some tips to hopefully make the choice a little easier
Passion Being a boudoir photographer should be all about the passion... It should come through in their website, portfolio and in the way they talk. It is not simply about money and taking sexy photos, it's about creating an experience for ladies that is a journey of self discovery and empowerment. Your photographer should want to help you celebrate your femininity, your curves, and beauty. Location Always be sure to ask the photographer, where the shoot will take place. It's important to know that your shoot will be in a private and safe location. Most boudoir photographers have a studio that you can use, but also offer the option of using a hotel or even your own home.
Post-production The editing or post-production process of a photographer is a big part of their style. Some photographers prefer to do a lot of editing, whereas others prefer to only do a little light editing. Light editing normally includes softening of the skin and removing blemishes, without changing who you are. Make sure you ask about the photographers editing style, and if you are not sure, get them to show you a before and after edited photo. The femme fatale team believe boudoir photography is about celebrating who you are... we love natural images and do not want you to look drastically different from who you really are. Packages Most photographers include the full experience in their packages, and this normally includes hairstyling and make-up. Ensure the package you choose suits your needs for the shoot, and if the photographer is willing to be flexible with including different options. Talk to your photographer about the best way of displaying your images... be it a little black book, a canvas wall print or a folio box. Your photographer is in the best position to advise you on what will look the best
We hope this helps you choose the right boudoir photographer for you and that your journey of empowerment and self love is as beautiful as you are.
